The Jonker Street situated in Malacca has a number of charismatic reasons for visitors to explore. From the many exclusively Malaccan shops, to a wide variety of food and beverages, It is a true all in one alfresco experience. The Jonker Walk World Heritage Park offers a whole new experience to this already amazing attraction.
Essentially, Jonker Walk World Heritage Park is an urban park located in the midst of Melaka town. Upon walking in the heritage park, the glittery glossy statue of Dr Gan Boon Leong welcomes all with a charming smile. Dr Gan Boon Leong is easily Melaka’s most famous individual; a body builder, local celebrity and politician, the statue is a commemoration of this great local Malaccan.
Apart from the significant statue of the heritage park, this inner-city estate offers visitors an uninterrupted getaway from the shoving activity along the busy street. This well landscaped greenery, with a few endearing statues of elephant and ample sitting area, provides a soothing environment for any passer-by.
During the weekends, upon night fall, the Jonker Walk World Heritage Park has occasional buskers performing old and modern day melodies to allure everyone.
